Rayagada: Despite the tall claims by the government that it is ensuing basic health services and adequate communications in the remote areas of the state, a woman was carried on sling by her family members and relatives, for around twelve kilometres, after the ambulance could not reach the village due to unavailability of a concrete road to the village in Rayagada.
According to reports, one Padiami Sikka, Lakhpadar village of Niyamagiri area under Kalyansinghpur block in the district had gone to collect PDS rice, however while she was returning her leg was injured and she could not walk.
Following which her family members tried to contact ambulance services, however the ambulance didn’t turn up.
Later, family members decided to carry her on their shoulder for around 12 km to Parsali from where she was taken to the hospital in an auto-rickshaw.
Meanwhile she is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
