Agarpara: Renubala’s disabilities have failed in the presence of her strong willpower, setting an inspiration for everyone of her class to achieve successes in life.

Renubala is the younger daughter of Balaram Dalei of Bhadrak district’s Asurali Gandhi Nagar. When she was eight-month-old, her house was burnt in a fire mishap and she sustained severe burn injuries.  After treatments, for which huge amount of money was spent, she recouped but she lost her right hand. She became a lefthander.

Handicapping, however, could not stop her from leading a self-reliant and dignified life. She has a very strong bond with other students of her class. She belongs to a middle-class family but this didn’t stop her from helping others.

After the Matric exam in first division, she is now pursuing her studies in the Institute of Education and Training. She has an aim to become a teacher.

Institute of Education and Training Principal Dr Khageswar Nayak said, ‘‘Renubala is a talented, high-thinking, amicable and helpful girl. She never thinks that she is handicapped. If government, private or any other organisation or individual come forward to support her; she would certainly go far in achieving successes.”
