Bhubaneswar: The girls have outshone the boys in the annual Plus II Arts, Commerce and Vocational Education examinations this year, results of which were declared on Saturday.

School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra formally declared the results of the examination at the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) headquarters here on Saturday.

Out of a total of 2,30,206 students, 1,58,378 students have cleared the examination of which 63,759 are boys (60.88%) and 94,619 are girls (75.39%).

The pass percentage in the Arts stream is 68.79 as against 70.71 last year.

As many as 19,993 students have cleared the examination with first division, 26,076 in second division and 1,12,143 in third division.

While Puri has topped the district chart with a highest pass percentage of 79.87, Nabarangpur has the lowest pass percentage with 47.58.

In the Commerce stream, the pass percentage is 74.91.

In the Vocational Education stream, the pass percentage is 52.61 as against 61.22 last year.

Out of a total of 7,966 students, 4,191 students have cleared the examination of which 2080 are boys (48.71%) and 2,111 are girls (57.11%).

Among the students who have cleared the examination, 299 have secured first division, 1,692 in second division and 2,051 in third division.

Bargarh has topped the district chart with a highest pass percentage of 81.89, while Nabarangpur district has the lowest pass percentage with only 3.92.
