Kitty party is a regular social gathering of women in which each member contributes money to a central pool and lots are drawn to decide which member will get the entire sum. With every member actively hosting the party, it no doubt brings in ideas and learning also for the group members and the host. It is ‘me time’ for the ladies where they discuss everything from politics to business to shopping to the problems of their area or locality and to add up they have set their foot on Swaach Bharat Abhiyan too.
At times, the groups set a theme for the party. Mostly the theme is planned with the colour code and accordingly the attires, food and the decoration as well as activities and gifts are fixed keeping in mind beauty, fashion, comfort and enjoyment in mind.

On the day of the Kitty party a cheerful hostess welcomes the group members and gives them a feeling of ‘feel at home”. While offering a start up soft drink and snacks, she converses with each of the group members.
