Bhubaneswar: The three-day Rajarani Music Festival began on the lush green ambience in the precinct of the magnificent Rajarani Temple, here on Thursday.
On the inaugural evening, Suramani Ramesh Chandra Das with violin and Srinibas Satapathy on flute enchanted the audience with their recital. The last piece of the day was Carnatic Vocal by Sanjay Subhramanyan.
The second evening will commence with Odissi Vocal by Matruprasad Das, followed by another Odissi Vocal performance by Himansu Sekhar Swain and instrumental music (Ghattam) by Viku Vinayakram.
The last day of the festival will witness Hindustani Vocal by Sanjiv Abhyankar. This will be followed by Violin Performance by Ganesh and Kumaresh.
The three-day musical event will conclude on January 20.
The festival was inaugurated by Sangeet Natak Akademi Vice- president Ramhari Das in the presence of Tourism Director Nitin Bhanudas Jawale and Sangeet Natak Akademi secretary Bijay Jena.
