Shradhanjali Samantaray former captain of Indian national women team and born in Banpur of Odisha, she has become the pride of all football lovers of the state. Shradhanjali Samantaray has been named as the assistant coach of national U-16 girls’ football team for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2015, Qualifiers Round 2014 to be played in Bangladesh from October 14 to 23. As per sources in the state football association, she would be travelling to Gandhinagar (Gujarat) to train national U-16 girls’ football team from August 20 during a special camp.
It can be recalled that Shradhanjali was the coach of Odisha senior women football team that participated in the recently concluded National Senior Women Football Championship held in Assam, where Odisha bagged the runners-up trophy. Shradhanjali currently is employed with the Navratna public sector undertaking NALCO Ltd.
Football Association of Odisha secretary Sanjay Behera not only congratulated her, but stated that the former India skipper has immense potentials to groom young talents. Given a chance, she can create more international women soccer talents like her, Behera optimized.
