Here is a simple chicken recipe which you can make and enjoy on Sunday, which is full of flavours.

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken – 500 gms (Cleaned)
  2. Turmeric powder – 1 Tsp + 1/2 Tsp
  3. Red Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp + 1/2 Tsp
  4. Chicken Tandoori Masala – 4 Tsp
  5. Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 Tbsp + 1 Tsp
  6. Onions – 3 Sliced
  7. Cloves – 3
  8. Cardamom – 3
  9. Pepper – 1/2 Tsp
  10. Curd – 5 Tbsp
  11. Bay leaf -1
  12. Water – 1/2 Cup
  13. Oil – 5 Tbsp
  14. Salt to Taste

Method:

  • In a bowl, mix curd, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp salt mix well
  • Add the cleaned chicken pieces to this marinade and let it marinate for 2 hrs in fridge
  • After marinating, heat oil in kadhai or pressure cooker
  • Add all whole masala or Kada masalas
  • Once they start to splutter add onions, 1/2 tsp salt and sauté
  • Cover and cook on med heat for 10 mins till onions turn nice and soft
  • Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric and red chilli powder and mix. Add Chicken tandoori masla and water
  • Add the marinated chicken with the marinade
  • Mix well. Cover and cook for 30 mins on med heat or pressure cook up to 3 whistles (cooking time may vary depending on the quality of chicken)
  • When chicken is cooked, remove in a bowl and serve hot with rotis or rice
