Tandoori Chicken without oven is an easy recipe to cook the famous tandoori chicken without the use of oven. So if you do not have oven but an appetite for tandoori chicken then this recipe is a dream come true for you. Here is a simple recipe of Tandoori Chicken without oven:


  • First marination:
  1. 2 tandoori chicken pieces(750 gms approx…)
  2. salt – to taste
  3. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  4. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tsp lemon extracted juice
  • Second marination:
  1. ½ cup yogurt
  2. ½ tsp red chilli powder
  3. salt – to taste
  4. ½ tsp garam masala powder
  5. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  6. ¼ tsp red food color
  7. 1 tbsp oil
  • To cook the chicken:
  1. 1 tbsp oil
  2. 1 tbsp butter
  3. For garnishing:
  4. onion rings
  5. coriander leaves
  6. lemon wedges


  • Firstly, take two tandoori chicken pieces, make cuts on it.

First marination:

  • Take the chicken pieces into a bowl, add salt as per taste, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, lemon extracted juice.
  • Mix the chicken with the spices completely.
  • Marinate the chicken inside the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Second marination:

  • Take a bowl, into it add thick yogurt, add red chilli powder, salt as per taste, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, red food color, oil, mix the spices without lumps.
  • Add the marinated chicken pieces into it, mix well and marinate again for another 15-20 minutes.

Cooking the chicken:

  • Take a pan, into it add oil, butter and heat it.
  • Add the marinated chicken pieces into it.
  • Add the left over marinade all over the chicken.
  • Cover and cook the chicken for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Flip the chicken and cook the chicken on the other side for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Keep flipping and cook the chicken on each side until both the sides get cooked well on low flame.
  • When the chicken is cooked well, take the chicken pieces out on a plate.
  • Serve them using lemon wedges, onion rings, grated carrots etc.
