Bhubaneswar: The special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court will begin trial in the casting couch case involving Ollywood actor Tatwa Prakash Satpathy alias Papu Pompom today.
Reportedly, a minor girl had alleged that the comedian had tried to molest her repeatedly on pretext of giving her roles in films.
Following which, the actor was arrested from an apartment in Puri on June 30 last year.
Earlier on July 1, the actor was charged under Sections 341, 323, and 354 of the IPC and Sections 8, 12 of the POSCO act.
The special court has also ordered the minor girl, her parents and the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) member Nirupama Ratha who had brought the allegations to appear before the court.
