Koraput: A wanted woman Maoist Cadre, allegedly involved in several offences, surrendered before police in Koraput district on Tuesday.

The surrendered cadre Maoist Suna Wadeka alias Jibani worked as a member of the Srikakulam area committee of the banned outfit CPI (Maoist) and was active since 2011.

According to reports, cadre Maoist Jibani, who was carrying a cash award of Rs one lakh on her head, surrendered before DIG (South Western Range) S Shyni.

Jibani said, she decided to surrender as she was fed up with the torture and harassment by her Maoist counterparts from Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Reportedly, Jibani was involved in at least 11 violent activities unleashed by the ultras including the Sunki bomb blast which was carried out on February 2 this year, in which as many as eight jawans were killed.
